  • 5 Excellent as always

I’ve been eating at the noodle bar for a number of years now after a recommendation from a friend, being slightly dubious I went along and have been going regularly ever since. Unlike most Chinese restaurant and takeaways in Coventry the food is fresh tasty and not swimming in grease. The skill of he chefs is easily noticeable in the cooking of the prawns and the squid, perfect texture and flavour with non of the chewiness and rubber texture found elsewhere. a good range of noodle from thick vermicelli to thick Japanese udon. The food is flavour some fresh and vibrant. Recommendations must be for the seafood special or the house special, the former including perfectly cooked squid king prawns and scallops and the later including a mélange of almost everything of the menu which includes an excellent belly pork. The success and popularity of this place is highlighted by the number of Chinese and east Asian nationals who eat there. Every evening is busy and has a bustling quick buzz about it, in eat out, full and satisfied for les than 6 pound. The service could be a bit better but its a 'bar' not a restaurant the staff are pleasant whilst rushed and you never have to wait to long for your steaming bowl of hot noodles. I can confidently say that the noodle bar is the best place to eat out in Coventry for quality of food and value for money, but lets face it its not hard. The noodle bar is a diamond in the rough that is the culinary culture of Coventry which is lets face it poor.

  • 5 a huge bowl of steaming noodles for a fiver?!

I can practically guarantee that you won't have been to a restaurant and been confronted with such a ginormous bowl of noodles in your life ever. Fact. This place operates the customise your dinner policy seen so much (and done so badly) by other restaurants of a similar genre. So pick the way you'd like your noodles (or rice) e.g. soupy / normal / boiled rice / egg fried rice. Pick your sauce e.g. satay / sweet and sour then pick your meat. Simple as. 15 minutes later your massive dinner will arrive, I challenge you to finish it!All this and service with a smile. It costs around a 5er for said huge bowl of noodles and the starters are yummy too. Under-rated! Fantastic grub.
